Hey Alex, current im on singtel 2gb with singtel mesh for 3 story landed house. The connect is not very good for the whole house. Any advise which telcom should i sign for how many gb and what mesh should i use ? Normally the house will be using wireless connections and not lan port.

I am reading robot vacuum for most brands needing a 1.5m clearance in front of the docking station for the robot vacuum to return to the docking station. Any issues with yours placed in the service yard? I'm assuming you might not have a 1.5m clearance space there.

Usually those salesperson have 0 clue what I'm asking them lol, things like controls/entities that can be exposed etc, just wanted to integrate them into HA via z2m (not a fan of a single manufacturer's ecosystem), it's better to just google and hopefully someone is kind enough to share the information on the same devices. Btw, great tips for people who are planning a smart home system!

Be aware that all these contain cleverly disguised marketing tricks. Such as monthly fees for services that your old router may have had included, the need to set up an account with some or a lot of personal details, and devices that may not be compatible with whatever modem/router you have. Read the small print (if available) before spending hundreds of your dollars.

Why doesn't any regularly available (home use) router mention the max recommended devices anywhere? 10 should be fine, but how about 30? Even the manufacturer website doesn't say it.

Hi Alex, do you recommend Aqara's dimmer switches? They have the H1 Wireless Knob and Z1 Pro now. Also for home reno, do you recommend to do smart switches and a tri-tone dumb light? Cos seems overkill to have both smart switch and smart bulbs. Thanks

If you are going with smart lights instead of switches, a lot of IDs and electricians will give you a perplexed look when you want an always on ceiling smart light that can only be turned off on the switch board / remote control. Just persist and ask them to label the switch board so you know which to flick if you ever need to change light bulbs.
